Saturday's Success Story: Copyblogger's Brian Clark

Ahoy! Until I started writing this post, I had no idea that the incredibly popular blogger, Brian Clark, was a former attorney. Shout out! (Ok, so he calls himself a “recovering attorney”. Still…). Copyblogger has over 80,000 subscribers, personally educates me routinely and Brian is an expert at leveraging content. Additionally, he is the mastermind behind the increasingly popular Wordpress Thesis theme. At $87-$164 a pop, he’s making a nice income through this alone.

Brian’s blog is the “go to” place for bloggers and copywriters. But it is also a shot in the arm for entrepreneurs of all types, encouraging us to be ourselves and do what we do to the best of our ability. Not surprisingly, Brian has expanded his business into consulting, speaking in addition to writing. He is now an internet celebrity with a huge Twitter following. Like me, he is going through Mad Men withdrawal…

Brian is a classic example of an entrepreneur building his success through the use of new media, social networking and leveraging content. Not always what first comes to mind when thinking of an entrepreneur but plenty of people are making their living in just this way. Jonathan Field’s Career Renegade is a guidebook for building this type of business and income yourself.

Brian offers this advice in an interview on creating a popular blog ” It’s about a unique voice, unique value, and working to make a connection with the audience. It’s not easy, but those who truly work at it will succeed.” Thank you to Brian for all of the information and encouragement he has shared via Copyblogger! Here’s to your continued success!
