TVLAI owner joins Solo Practice University!
The Virtual Legal Assistant, Inc. is extremely proud and excited to announce our affiliation with Solo Practice University! As owner of The Virtual Legal Assistant, I will be part of the SPU faculty
, teaching a course entitled “Virtual Assistants and the Solo Practitioner“. SPU, “a revolutionary new web-based educational community that picks up where your legal education left off”, was founded by two innovative legal thinkers: Susan Cartier Liebel and David T. Carson. Many of you have followed Susan’s top-notch blog, Build a Solo Practice High Noon move , LLC, for some time now. I have blog envy every time I read it as it provides cutting edge legal information that is deftly written. Susan has been working with law students and attorneys since 2000 on building their own practice and since that time over 20% have gone on to hang their own shingles successfully. David, an attorney, is the “Web muscle” behind SPU, building a site with a smooth user interface and a variety of useful features.
With over ten years in legal administrative support under my belt, my own group of retainer clients and a strong understanding of what it takes to support busy legal professionals virtually, I am confident it will be a great partnership. I’m humbled by being included in such an impressive roster of faculty members, including Carolyn Elefant, Jay Foonberg Sea Scouts dvdrip and Grant Griffiths, all of whom will be teaming up to offer a variety of courses. SPU is filling a niche for the ever-expanding entrepreneurial ventures of attorneys and will undoubtedly help them take control of their businesses-and their lives! In addition to the nuts and bolts information about types of law and building a practice, many of the course offerings will provide students the opportunity to learn how to integrate their personal lives with a more flexible legal practice. A virtual assistant is a key component of this, and my course will offer information on how to choose an ethical VA, manage confidentiality, build and maintain a positive working relationship and effectively use technology to integrate a practice with a VA. Solo Practice University has garnered a great deal of advance press, including the ABA Journal, and will go fully live in a few weeks.
Thank you Susan, David and the rest of the Solo Practice University community for instilling your trust in me. I can’t wait to get started!
